When should I submit this request?
Qatar National Library undertakes to use reasonable care when it makes content available on any of our digital channels and platforms, but that content may be affected by circumstances outside of the Library's knowledge.
If you have concerns (incl. copyright issues) about any content made available on the Library website or any other digital channel/platform, please follow the instructions below to notify us and request the content takedown.
What will I need to submit this request?
In order to submit a content takedown request, you will have to provide us with at least the following pieces of information:
- Your basic personal and contact information
- Your institutional affiliation, in case the request is made on behalf of a company/institution
- The content that your request relates to, including information on which of the Library's digital platforms/channels it can be found
- The reason for your concern
All the above information is necessary for us to process your request. If you don't have all the information, please provide us with what you know, and we will contact you if any further clarifications are required.

Information for new users:
We recommend that you sign up as a user of the QNL Digital Collections Services and Support Center before submitting a new request. When you log in, you will be able to track your request history.
When and how will my request be handled?
If the Library receives a takedown request or any other notice of concern in relation to any content made available on our digital platforms/channels, the following procedure will apply.
- The Library will acknowledge receipt of your notice by email (within 3 working days at the latest), and commence an initial assessment of the nature and validity of your concern.
- If your notice outlines a valid concern, the Library may temporarily suspend access to the content pending the outcome of an investigation into the reported concern.
- Where appropriate, the Library will contact any person who contributed the content to our digital platform or channel. That person will be provided with details of the reported concern and the opportunity to respond to the Library.
- If the Library's investigation finds in favour of the reported concern, and a resolution cannot be reached in any way, the work will remain unavailable on the Library’s digital platform/channel until such time as a resolution is reached or the basis for the reported concern has ceased to apply.
- In some cases, we may reject the request. If this happens, we will let you know exactly why the Library decided to do so.
